BCRC is your temple! By volunteering, we all benefit. We depend on our dedicated volunteers for the success of our community.  Without our volunteers, we would not be able to hold the community events that make BCRC a true 'house of friends'. In addition, volunteering for a community with a sacred purpose makes your experience and relationships more meaningful!

In this form we ask you to indicate your choice for specific short-term volunteer jobs. Mature teens are also welcome as volunteers and can make for a memorable family experience.

As a condition of membership, we do ask that you serve as a helper family for Friday night services two times per year. We hope that you will see this as an opportunity you might not otherwise take on your own to connect with your Judaism and to meet people in our community whom you might not otherwise have occasion to meet. You may use this form to request a specific helper family or usher date (or dates) which best fits your schedule for the upcoming year. If we don’t hear from you, the remaining dates are  randomly assigned as we do need your help during Friday night services.  

If you do choose to sign up for one of the short-term volunteer jobs, this will reduce your helper family commitment by one date. Members in the ‘senior’ category (at least one member 70 or older) are exempt, but may volunteer for a date. You may also choose to sponsor one entire oneg in lieu of the two helper family dates. This is often done in honor of or in memory of a family member. For details on what this entails, please contact the office.

Won’t you consider your commitment to your synagogue and sign up for at least one volunteer position. Small steps by many people will keep the flame alive.
