Positive comments have been rolling in after the completion of our Zoom High Holy Days. While we were physically distanced, we were still able to come together as a community, with our members passing on new years greetings before and after the services. During our Yom Kippur services, attended by over 100 families, we incorporated a number of interactive features that kept people engaged throughout, including a Yom Kippur word cloud and some very thought provoking polls highlighting Rabbi Amy’s timely discussion of the need for empathy, and a virtual shofar choir to end the services. Our members continued to be involved throughout Yom Kippur day, with a well attended virtual meditation session led by Stay Kafka and a fascinating talk by Dr. Itzhak Brook, author of "In the Sands of Sinai - A Physician's Account of the Yom Kippur War," with a virtual Q&A session. We were able to present our online Yizkor Book (thanks to Muriel Gardner!) during the Yizkor services. Click here to download the Yizkor Book. Zoom High Holy Days were great but we to see everyone at the temple in person next year!

UAA Questionnaire to Candidates
United Against Antisemitism (UAA), a grass roots organization based in the Washington D.C. area, created a questionnaire on how candidates seeking to run in our Congressional District, and for the US Senate seat for Virginia would respond to the rise of antisemitism we are witnessing.
This is a non-partisan effort, and the questionnaire was sent to all candidates (Democrats and Republicans) running in the primaries for the 10th Congressional District, the seat currently held by Jennifer Wexton who is not running for re-election. Please click here to read full information and to see the responses.
