Summary |
On Wednesday, May 29, BCRC, in partnership with Congregation Sha'are Shalom and the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), presented a candidates' forum at BCRC. Nine of the twelve candidates who are on the ballot in the 10th Congressional District Democratic primary attended and held a vigorous discussion of issues ranging from antisemitism in schools and colleges, the war against Hamas, reproductive rights, how to break gridlock in Washington and much more. We hope to make this the first in an annual series, since in Virginia every year there is a different political race. We invite any congregant would be interested to organize a Republican candidate forum as well. If you missed this forum you may view the videotape on the BCRC Virginia YouTube channel, or at https://www.youtube.com/

Sanctuary & Social Renewal Project
BCRC has launched the Sanctuary & Social Renewal Project, a new fundraising project to take the next step in implementing the BCRC Master Plan. We are moving forward with the first phase, which starts with the addition of a fully retractable, soundproofed movable wall between the sanctuary/social hall. We are also working with a generous donor on designing and building a beautiful new carved wooden ark! We now need your help to raise $35,000 by the High Holy Days to build our new permanent bimah!
Click here to read full details and here to see how YOU will be recognized for your donation. Please be sure to click here and select donate to Sanctuary & Social Renewal Project - our goal is 100% participation!
