FILM SHOWING: UNDER G-D, AFTER ABBREVIATED SHABBAT SERVICES Friday, January 24, 2025 The film UNDER G-D explores the lawsuits currently being launched by rabbis, Jewish organizations, and interfaith leaders challenging the overturning of Roe v. Wade. These advocates for reproductive rights argue for the separation of church and state and seek to protect religious freedom for all. The film is 24 minutes long; a brief discussion period will follow.
AXE THROWING WITH THE BROTHERHOOD! Saturday, January 25, 2025, 5:00 p.m. Axes and Os, 21680 Ridgetop Circle, Sterling VA Join our brothers to "bury the hatchet" for a fun night of axe throwing! Axe throwing is an exciting sport that consists of throwing lightweight hatchets (approximately 2 lbs.) at targets with different scoring rings. It is actually safer than bowling (the materials promise!) Axe throwing sessions are 90 minutes long and include a dedicated axe coach who reviews, instructs on how to properly throw axes, explains scoring and rules, introduces fun games to play and--perhaps most important--acts as a server to take your food and drink orders. Cost is $40/person Click here to register or email brotherhood@bcrcva.org with questions.

GMU Commended by JCRC
Recent antisemitic threats uncovered by security personnel at George Mason University illustrate how difficult and scary life still is for many Jewish college students. Fortunately, GMU administrators took strong steps to address these developments. The Jewish Community Resource Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington put out this statement commending GMU for their commitment to and compassion for Jewish members of their community.
