Rules for Bar/Bat Mitzvah Service
Rules for Bar/Bat Mitzvah Service
First welcome the b’nei Mitzvah family and all of their guests, and then explain that ‘Beth Chaverim’ means ‘house of friends’ and that we seek to provide a friendly environment where everyone who joins us feels comfortable and welcome to worship in their own way. To help us maintain this environment, we have just a few rules we ask you to follow. Next, go through the following rules:
- Turn off or silence cell phones
- No photography or videography
- Don’t clap to show appreciation; instead wave hands or rub hands together (there may be clapping in rhythm along with some songs – just follow along).
- Only enter or leave sanctuary while congregation is seated (look in small window between the entry doors)
- Please sign along (or hum if you want)
- No books on floor
- Explain that Mishkan Tefillah works by page openings – normally we will read 1 prayer per page then move to next page. Rabbi will announce page number when we skip a page or pages.

Announcing Sanctuary & Social Renewal Sprint 2
Our goal is to raise $50,000 by June 30 to build a spiritual Jerusalem stone wall backdrop integrated with the bimah, with recessed lighting and built-in space for a permanent ark.We plan to have the sanctuary construction done during the summer so that we can be ready for the High Holy Days. We thank everyone who has donated to our earlier phase.
Above you can see a rendering of these exciting plans (place holders for ark and furniture). Along with the movable wall and new seating these changes will begin to give our sanctuary the feel of a permanent worship space. Click here to read full details on the project.
