Summary |
On Sunday, April 11th, BCRC partnered with the ADAMS Center, Ashburn, for the first of two Covid-19 Vaccine Clinics, with the Moderna vaccine, for individuals who fall in the 1A, 1B, and 1C, categories.
The second of the two shots will be given out on Sunday, May 9th (Mother's Day).
Thank you to the incredible medical professionals who volunteered their time and expertise from BCRC and ADAMS. These volunteers served as vaccinators, monitors, and pharmacists. Non-medical volunteers also served as ushers and in registration.
This heroic effort could not have been accomplished without the help of our volunteers and the organization of MEDSPACK Pharmacy.
700-800 community members are being served by this vaccine clinic - no small feat!
Volunteers are needed for the May 9th vaccine clinic. Please sign up to contribute your time by clicking here.
Please note that Virginia opens vaccine eligibility to ALL adults Sunday, April 18th. While the BCRC-ADAMS vaccine clinic is only serving those who had pre-registered in 1A, 1B, and 1C, for the April 11th clinic, we encourage all adults to sign up for a vaccine through the Vaccinate Virginia vaccine system by visiting vaccinate.virginia.gov or by calling 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682, TTY users call 7-1-1). The vaccinate.virginia.gov site will link to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s VaccineFinder website, which has a searchable map-based tool to find appointments at Community Vaccination Centers, local health departments, pharmacies, and hospitals.

Announcing Sanctuary & Social Renewal Sprint 2
Our goal is to raise $50,000 by June 30 to build a spiritual Jerusalem stone wall backdrop integrated with the bimah, with recessed lighting and built-in space for a permanent ark.We plan to have the sanctuary construction done during the summer so that we can be ready for the High Holy Days. We thank everyone who has donated to our earlier phase.

GMU Commended by JCRC
Recent antisemitic threats uncovered by security personnel at George Mason University illustrate how difficult and scary life still is for many Jewish college students. Fortunately, GMU administrators took strong steps to address these developments. The Jewish Community Resource Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington put out this statement commending GMU for their commitment to and compassion for Jewish members of their community.
