Summary |
Our architects from Brawer Hauptman visited on Thursday Jan 30 to hold a 'meet and greet' and to present the master plan for the next generation upgrade of our BCRC facility. We have dubbed this plan 'BCRC21' since it will lead our facility, which has served us well as a permanent home for over a decade, into a new, more welcoming and more spiritual era. Don't worry if you were not able to join us Thursday night (although you missed the wonderful spread of snacks and light dinner items donated by Jackie Leventhal)! You can view a PowerPoint presentation with narration. Click here to download, and then play the slide show. The project is planned for accomplishment in self-contained phases which can be much easier to finance individually than doing the full project at one time. As we informed you, your dues pay for day-to-day operations of the temple and will not be used for the renovation. Therefore we will need some new fundraising ideas, several of which were discussed Thursday. Would you be interested in working with the fundraising committee to raise funds for this project? Email president@bcrcva.org and let me know!

it's BCRC's 25th Anniversary
This year our 'house of friends' will celebrate our 25th anniversary by returning to a full schedule of events where adults, kids and families can get together. Watch for announcements of events and please consider a special 25th anniversary donation to your house of friends (click donate above).
Community Seder - a BCRC Tradition
On Saturday April 8 at 6 PM, BCRC continues its annual tradition of a community seder on the first Saturday of Passover. Rabbi Amy will join with song leader Rachel Gomberg to lead the seder. We will provide a chicken entree and ask families to bring a side dish or dessert that is kosher for Passover. BCRC permits legumes including chickpeas, peas, and lentils as well as quinoa and rice. Click here to RSVP by Apr 3 - free for members, $10/adult (13 and over) for public.
Helper Family Returns: Please Sign Up!
Beginning this year, BCRC is bringing back the Helper Family program for Friday Erev Shabbat services. We encourage each family unit (including single members) to volunteer as a helper family for one or two Erev Shabbat services each year. This is a mitzvah for the BCRC community, and a great way for you to connect with other congregants. Click HERE to sign up. Click HERE to see full instructions for helper families. Thank you!
