Religious School Quarantine Policy
Religious School Quarantine Policy
BCRC follows LCPS protocols for COVID-19 quarantine. Under the most recent protocols, u Nov. 3, students and staff who are not fully vaccinated and were 'close contacts' of a person who has COVID-19 must quarantine. The quarantine period is now 10 days. The person quarantining may return to school after 7 days if they provide a negative COVID-19 test performed on or after day 5 following exposure and do not have any symptoms.
The quarantine requirements do not apply to those who are fully vaccinated or can provide documentation of having COVID-19 within the past 3 months, as long as they do not have symptoms. If these persons were close contacts of the infected person they should get tested 5-7 days after exposure, following CDC guidelines. They should also continue to monitor for symptoms, and quarantine and seek testing immediately if they develop any symptoms.
In order to correctly apply these policies you need to fully understand the definition of 'close contact' for K-12 school settings in Virginia, because there are several important factors to keep in mind that differ from non-school settings. Please use the table below to determine whether a child or staff member was a close contact:

Community Seder - a BCRC Tradition
On Saturday April 8 at 6 PM, BCRC continues its annual tradition of a community seder on the first Saturday of Passover. Rabbi Amy will join with song leader Rachel Gomberg to lead the seder. We will provide a chicken entree and ask families to bring a side dish or dessert that is kosher for Passover. BCRC permits legumes including chickpeas, peas, and lentils as well as quinoa and rice. Click here to RSVP by Apr 3 - free for members, $10/adult (13 and over) for public.
Helper Family Returns: Please Sign Up!
Beginning this year, BCRC is bringing back the Helper Family program for Friday Erev Shabbat services. We encourage each family unit (including single members) to volunteer as a helper family for one or two Erev Shabbat services each year. This is a mitzvah for the BCRC community, and a great way for you to connect with other congregants. Click HERE to sign up. Click HERE to see full instructions for helper families. Thank you!
