Donor Benefit Levels
Donor Benefit Levels for Sanctuary & Social Renewal Project
The Sanctuary & Social Renewal Project is the next step in implementing the BCRC Master Plan. The project aims to minimize the business park feel of our space and create a welcoming sense of identity, turning our sanctuary and social hall into a true home for our house of friends. All donations to 'Sanctuary & Social Renewal Project are welcome and will be recognized in the BCRC eBlast. Special recognition will be given at the following levels.
Maimonides Society - $150,000 or more
Maimonides originated the 'Ladder of Tzedakah', the 8-level hierarchy of giving. If you give at this level, you will be recognized by having the sanctuary/social hall named for you, with a plaque honoring your contribution.
King David Society - $50,000 - $149,999
David united the tribes of Israel under a single monarch. In addition he was a great poet (not to mention his youthful feat with Goliath). If you give at this level, you will be recognized by having either the sanctuary or social hall named for you, with a plaque honoring your contribution.
Leaders' Circle - $25,000 - $49,999
A special plaque in the sanctuary/social hall will recognize those who took the lead in initiating and sustaining this project for their key role in spearheading our 21st century renewal.
Multi-year pledges (over the term of the project) may be considered for donations of $25,000 or more. Please contact our office.
Ray of Light - $10,000 - $24,999
Gifts at this level will enable us to lay the groundwork to move to Phase II which will include new lighting and carpeting to complete the space transformation. The 'rays of light' who donate at this level will also be recognized on the plaque described above.
Bimah Builder - $5000 - $9,999
Gifts at this level will be a key element in funding our new bemah, central to success of Phase I. Contributors will be recognized as 'Bemah Builders' on a plaque affixed to the new bemah.
Tzedakah Society - $1000 - $4,999
Gifts at this level will be recognized with a certificate inducting you into BCRC's honorary 'Tzedakah Society' and a 'todah rabah' published in the eBlast. In addition, all gifts exceeding $1000 will be recognized on a planned 'donor wall'.

GMU Commended by JCRC
Recent antisemitic threats uncovered by security personnel at George Mason University illustrate how difficult and scary life still is for many Jewish college students. Fortunately, GMU administrators took strong steps to address these developments. The Jewish Community Resource Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington put out this statement commending GMU for their commitment to and compassion for Jewish members of their community.
